Bonapp by Munch saved 500 tons of food in Romania since its launch

In 2024, Bonapp by Munch reached over 3.5 million downloads, supported 6,000 retail and HoReCa partners, and generated 7.5 million EUR in revenue

Since its launch in November 2021, Bonapp by Munch, a mobile app dedicated to reducing food waste, saved over 500 tons of food, helped users save nearly 2 million EUR, and avoided more than 4,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.

Founded in Bucharest by French entrepreneurs Luka Zivkovic, Diego Roy de Lachaise, and Grégoire Vigroux, Bonapp is a pioneer in Romania’s fight against food waste. It sold over 560,000 food packages at an average order value of 30 RON (approximately 6 EUR).

In early 2025, the company merged with Munch, CEE’s leading food-saving app, which had recently entered the Romanian market. Focused on offering Romania’s users a more advanced and seamless experience, the merger combined Bonapp’s local foundation with Munch’s advanced technology and regional scale.

Together, the unified company has become the largest anti-food-waste network in Central and Eastern Europe, with over 2,000 partner locations in Romania and market leadership across Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
