Romania’s first Wendy’s restaurants opening soon in Bucharest and Iasi

The first Wendy’s restaurants in Romania are about to be opened. The American chain has almost ready at least two units in the Mega Mall Bucharest and the new Mall Moldova Iași, which will open on April 17, 2025.

Both units will be located in the food court area of the two shopping centers, alongside other international fast food brands such as Popeye’s, KFC, Burger King, Finnish Hesburger, and McDonald’s (in Mall Moldova).

Wendy’s signed franchise agreements with companies in Romania and Ireland in the middle of last year, to develop hundreds of fast-food restaurants in Europe over the next decade. The first Wendy’s units will open in Romania and Ireland in 2025.

There are currently more than 7,000 Wendy’s restaurants in over 30 markets and territories worldwide. The fast food chain’s founder, Dave Thomas, opened the first Wendy’s restaurant in the US in 1969.
