Radisson grows Romanian footprint: New hotels in Bucharest, Brașov, and Mamaia

Radisson Hotel Group’s current portfolio in Romania includes several key properties, with two located in the capital: the award-winning Radisson Blu Hotel Bucharest – recognized as the country’s top business hotel in both 2023 and 2024, and Park Inn by Radisson. The group also operates the Radisson Blu Hotel Cluj and the Blu Aurum Hotel in Brașov.

One of the group’s most notable upcoming developments is Radisson RED Bucharest Old Town. This project involves the transformation of a 1940s office building—formerly used by the Institute of Hydroelectric Studies—into a modern lifestyle hotel. The building will be fully renovated and repurposed to offer 104 rooms in the historic Old Town district, blending contemporary amenities with vintage architectural charm.

This will mark the debut of the Radisson RED brand in Romania and become the group’s fourth hotel in Bucharest. The hotel will feature a restaurant and bar, a lobby with a co-working lounge, an outdoor terrace, a 100-square-meter multifunctional space, and a pop-up area on the fifth floor.

A second major development in the capital is the Radisson Lagoon Hotel, set to rise in the emerging Lagoon City district. This upscale urban resort will include 323 rooms, a wellness center, a 1,100-square-meter private sandy beach, and access to a 10,000-square-meter man-made lagoon.

Radisson is also expanding its footprint beyond the capital. A second location in Brașov—Radisson Blu Grand Mountain Resort—is scheduled to open in early 2027. Meanwhile, a coastal project in Mamaia, Radisson Blu Resort & Residences, is slated for a 2028 launch. This mixed-use development will offer 234 hotel rooms and 102 branded residences, along with a 500-square-meter spa and fitness center.
