Polish giant Zabka enters the local retail market with Froo stores

Zabka, one of the largest modern convenience store brands in Europe, opened the first five Froo stores in Romania, all in Bucharest. Other units to follow soon, including a flagship store in the Capital.

Froo stores will operate under a business partnership model, with units to be opened in major cities in Romania, with areas between 50 and 70 square meters.

In the Froo store chain, over 80% of the assortment consists of well-known and appreciated Romanian brands and international brands from Romanian suppliers.

Froo also offers private label products – the range includes Tommy Bites sandwiches, Good Soul lunch products, Barefruit drinks, and hot snacks such as hot dogs, fries, and coffee.

The company operates 10,000 stores in Poland, with an opening rate of 3 stores per day in recent years. More than 3.5 million customers go to Zabka stores daily.

Moreover, 17 million Poles have a Zabka store within 500 meters of their home or office. Last year, the group recorded a turnover of more than 5 billion euros.

The group created 63,000 jobs, even though all stores in Poland are franchises. Thus, in Poland, more than 9,000 small entrepreneurs are operating a Zabka franchise.

At the end of last year, Zabka took over the majority stake in DRIM Daniel Distributie FMCG, a family business managed by the second generation of entrepreneurs.
