MedLife to acquire 50% of the Neolife Oncology centers in Romania

Medlife confirmed the acquisition of 50% of the shares in Neolife, one of the largest medical players in the oncology segment in Romania.

According to company representatives, the transaction is to be vetted by the Competition Council.

Neolife Oncology has been operating for seven years in the Romanian market. It operates four medical centers and is a member of the Bozlu Group, Turkey, which owns 21 companies.

The Neolife brand’s experience in nuclear medicine dates back to 1989 when the first private company providing such services in a hospital was opened in Turkey.

Neolife centers in Romania are located in Bucharest (two), in Iasi and Brasov.

Tens of thousands of procedures have been carried out and more than 170.000 patients have been treated at Neolife centers.

Patients have had access to chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatments, covered by the National Health Insurance House (NHIH) within the National Oncology Programme.

Neolife Medical Center Romania, with a total of 250 employees and partners, closed 2020 with a turnover of 92 million lei, an increase of over 30 % as compared to 2019.
