Lion’s Head gets the construction permit for its first logistics park in Romania

Lion’s Head is expanding its footprint in Romania with a major move into the logistics sector. The company has announced the development of a logistics park, a €65 million investment located on a 155,000 sqm plot strategically positioned between Bucharest’s current ring road (DNCB) and the new A0 ring highway, in Popesti-Leordeni.

Designed with flexibility and sustainability in mind, the project will deliver 85,000 sqm of total built-up warehouse space, with unit sizes ranging from 1,500 sqm to 20,000 sqm. All spaces will feature a 12-meter clear height, making them ideal for modern logistics and storage operations.

The park will include three warehouse buildings, each engineered to meet the needs of logistics, distribution, and e-commerce tenants. With construction set to begin in Q3 2025, Lion’s Head is aligning its efforts with Romania’s fast-growing logistics market and the region’s need for energy-efficient, scalable infrastructure.

The site will include EV charging stations, green recreation areas, abundant parking, and smart BMS (Building Management System) technologies. The focus on sustainable building materials and energy efficiency is central to the company’s commitment to long-term environmental responsibility and reduced operational costs.

Lion’s Head Investments, a joint venture between AG Capital and Old Mutual Property, already manages a portfolio exceeding €440 million, which includes Oregon Park in northern Bucharest. The project also benefits from the support of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which announced in 2024 a €150 million fund to co-finance Lion’s Head’s green logistics developments.
