Lio-Metal, a Romanian company in the metallurgy industry, is opening a new production factory in Galați, built to replace its old facility, after an investment of approximately EUR 5 million, financed with the support of ING Bank.
Covering over 7,000 square meters and equipped with modern machinery, the new Lio-Metal factory will have an annual production capacity of around 25,000 tons. Over the next two years, it will enable an increase of estimated 50% in the total production volume. At the same time, the new facility will allow the company to diversify its product portfolio and offer shorter delivery times to its partners.
The factory specializes in producing a wide range of metallurgical products, including black and galvanized welded pipes of various shapes and sizes, sheet metal coils and strips, profiled sheets, special bent profiles for container production and other metal fabrications, metal lath used in residential construction, and reinforcements for PVC window profiles.
Currently, the new unit employs 52 people, an increase of about 10 compared to the previous location, thus also contributing to revitalizing the region’s labor market. Lio-Metal’s products are mainly sold domestically, but also to neighboring countries, which generate between 8 and 12% of the company’s turnover.
