Hesburger opens its 11th restaurant in Romania, following a €400,000 investment

Hesburger, the largest burger restaurant chain in Finland and the Baltics, opened its 11th location in Romania, in Pitești, following a €400,000 investment. This marks Hesburger’s second restaurant in Argeș County, after the drive-in location in Curtea de Argeș, which saw a €700,000 investment.

The new restaurant is in Pitești Retail Park, occupying approximately 70 square meters in the food court. Hesburger entered the Romanian market in May 2024 with its first restaurant in Râmnicu Vâlcea, and plans to continue its expansion with a mix of traditional fast-food restaurants and drive-in formats, with Craiova set as the next target.

The Finnish company, founded by Heikki Salmela and his wife Kirsti Salmela, started its fast-food business in 1966 in the small town of Naantali. A family business with a history of over 50 years, Hesburger currently operates in 9 countries and has over 490 restaurants.
